About The Position

The ISSE will lead the implementation of the FBI's Security Assessment and Authorization (SAA) program, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the RMF lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in cybersecurity engineering, RMF, and NIST SP 800-53.
  • Experience in system categorization, security control implementation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of security professionals responsible for RMF implementation.
  • Oversee system categorization, security control selection, and implementation based on FBI risk management strategies.
  • Conduct security control assessments to validate the effectiveness of implemented safeguards.
  • Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decision-making.
  • Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity, incident response, and audit support efforts.
  • Track and report on security engineering activities, ensuring compliance with FBI and federal standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RMF, NIST guidance, and industry best practices.
