About The Position

Assists users with set-up, maintenance, and minor problems related to desktop computer equipment to insure that equipment is operating effectively and employees can best utilize County equipment to be productive.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Two years of related experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
Knowledge of Unix and Windows NT systems or similar operating systems.
Knowledge of personal computers and operating systems.
Knowledge of laser printers.
Ability to repair simple problems with desk top equipment.
Ability to design and develop systems and document procedures.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots P.C. and desktop problems to include operating systems, software, and printers.
Installs cable for data communications systems.
Sets-up users for connection to County servers.
Works with users to develop P.C. systems and specifications to meet departmental needs.
Assists in set-up, installation, and maintenance of personal computer hardware and software.
Troubleshoots problems and assists users. May provide training to users.
Provides user support and technical assistance for all desktop equipment.
May be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining data communications systems, connects and maintains workstations connected to networked systems.
Provides Local Area Network support as needed.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.
