About The Position

The Information Security Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity systems to protect an organization’s assets, personnel, and data. This role partners closely with the Information Security team to drive infrastructure security upgrades, risk remediation efforts, compliance initiatives, and vendor-supported security implementations. The Project Manager is responsible for managing budgets, timelines, vendor relationships, and regulatory requirements while coordinating cross-functional teams to mitigate security risks and strengthen security posture. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management discipline and a working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, terminology, and regulatory environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years supporting Information Security, Cybersecurity, or regulated IT environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
  • Working knowledge of security domains including Identity and Access Management (IAM), vulnerability management, endpoint security, and cloud security.
  • Experience supporting security operations, risk remediation efforts, or audit-related initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches) and related tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, deadline-driven projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong vendor management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including technical and executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within financial services or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or other security-related credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead high-visibility and mission-critical cybersecurity and infrastructure security upgrade projects.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers, and mitigation plans.
  • Oversee the implementation, testing, and maintenance of security technologies (e.g., Identity and Access Management, endpoint security, vulnerability management tools).
  • Ensure timely completion of projects by adapting to changing priorities and mobilizing resources as needed.
  • Partner with Information Security leadership to support risk remediation and compliance initiatives.
  • Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to ensure project objectives align with business goals and security standards.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, providing updates, resolving conflicts, and adjusting project plans as necessary.
  • Identify, track, and proactively address potential risks and obstacles throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organization, efficiency, and accuracy across multiple concurrent initiatives.
