About The Position

This role works with security domains and maintains and improves the associated systems to reduce security risks to the organization. Sentry is looking for an experienced information security professional to join the Information Security Operations team. This role can be filled as an Information Security Platform Engineer or an Information Security Engineer based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. What You'll Do As an Information Security Platform Engineer, you will: Be responsible for end-to-end management of at least one core security platform. Provide technical maintenance services and help with implementation of patches to integrated security systems and solutions ensuring continuous availability and operations. Conduct monitoring through automated functional and performance testing, investigate potential problems and determine solutions to avoid service interruptions. Research, propose and implement new features and functions for assigned security domain to streamline processes and enable continuous deployment of new capabilities. Communicate, implement, enforce and monitor security controls to protect the organization's technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. Serve as an internal resource for assigned security platform to support technology users. Execute security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures. Research and identify security risks and exposures, assist in determining the causes of security violations and collaborate with more experienced team members to suggest procedures to halt future incidents and improve security. Participate in audits and code testing to identify data security vulnerabilities for other team members assigned platforms. Receive audit feedback and implement architectural changes based on feedback and monitor effectiveness of implemented changes. Use externally established information security frameworks and guidelines to enable and enhance the information security program’s confidentiality, integrity, and security availability principles to be applied to security decisions in active projects and maintenance of systems. Additionally, you will: Participate in team conversations and events, openly and proactively communicate status and scope of ongoing efforts. Collaborate within Information Security to provide ideas and unique perspective around security projects, issues, and processes and will actively learn from other members of the team. Maintain a working knowledge of security trends and activities to help provide feedback and suggestions around new controls to be enabled throughout the environment. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and capabilities. Participate in developing security best practices within the information security program. Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in information security, networking, systems administration, computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Self-start, continuously learn, be detail-oriented, and perform under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two to four years of related work experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with networking, system administration, cloud infrastructure, or data security preferred.
  • Scripting experience preferred.
  • Sec+ or GSEC certification preferred.
