About The Position

Under general supervision of the Division Manager - Information Security and technical guidance from Senior Information Security Engineer, assists in the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Utah County’s information security programs. Helps protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Utah County’s Information Technology (IT) systems, networks, and data. Provides support for the County’s information security strategy, ensuring alignment with security policies and assisting with mitigation of security risks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information security or a closely related field.
Two (2) years of hands-on experience in information security.
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and demonstrated work competence may also be considered.
Applicants must possess CompTIA Security+ or similar entry-level Information Security certifications.
Selected applicants who do not possess CompTIA Security+ or similar entry-level Information Security certifications must obtain certifications within probationary period for new hires or trial period for promoted County employees and must maintain certifications during employment.
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment.
Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

Preference may be given to applicants with certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Comptia CYSA+, as well as other industry recognized information security certifications.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience in implementation of the NIST Cyber Security Framework (NIST CSF).
Preference may be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in information security or a closely related field.
