About The Position

AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in a seven-state territory in the Western United States. AgWest is part of the 100+ year-old Farm Credit System. They serve customers in 59 locations throughout the West. The company is seeking an Information Security Intern to join its Information Security department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This temporary position reports to the VP, Information Security and will learn from and assist the security analyst team. This internship is designed to provide a realistic job preview and insights to the career opportunities and potential that exists at AgWest, primarily in the area of information security. This internship is 20-25 hours per week and is anticipated to last up to one year.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, information security or related field
  • Junior standing to recent graduate
  • Completion of the online job application which includes submitting transcripts (unofficial are okay).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, or other business software
  • Basic understanding of how to identify opportunities for process improvement and ask questions to clarify business needs
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and ability to structure and solve problems
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and control assigned activities with competing timelines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

  • Assist with annual review of user system access across 150+ applications.
  • Assist with SailPoint Identity Governance software platform to automate and simplify user access review and certification.
  • Assist with incoming departmental emails, data loss prevention, employee decommissioning and vulnerability management.
  • Assist with documentation of security metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience in information security best practices.
  • Coordinate with team members and employees across the organization to complete projects.
  • Assist with other projects as necessary.
