About The Position

This is an on-site Summer Internship and is a temporary role from June 15 to August 14, supporting the IT department. The intern will learn to assist with general IT and Information Security tasks, including basic troubleshooting, system maintenance, and security monitoring. They will also learn and represent the core fundamentals of strong IT and cybersecurity customer service, with an emphasis on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The role involves supporting the analysis and review of existing systems to identify security risks, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and assisting with projects such as security documentation, policy updates, and audit preparation. The intern will help educate and train users on cybersecurity best practices, shadow and assist the Information Security Architect and IT leaders on initiatives, and contribute to the development and improvement of security controls, processes, and procedures. They will also gain exposure to security frameworks like NIST, ISO, and CIS.

Requirements

  • Must be working towards an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity

Responsibilities

  • Help educate and train users on cybersecurity best practices, including safe handling of organizational systems and data
  • Shadow and assist Information Security Architect and IT leaders on initiatives related to secure system design, risk management, and compliance efforts
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of security controls, processes, and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency and security posture
  • Gain exposure to security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS) and how they are applied within a real-world environment
