About The Position

iManage U provides students the chance to experience a dynamic, rapid-growth technology company firsthand. iManage will provide a structured program that delivers project-based activities, improved knowledge of business fundamentals, tackling complex problem solving, collaboration, team building, and some fun experiences along the way! This year, our paid internship program will kick off on Monday, June 8th, and will run through Thursday, August 13th. This internship will be based out of our downtown Chicago office, with activities requiring in-person presence. Joining our Information Security team, you will have no shortage of interesting and varied security projects to work on and learn from. You will collaborate with the team on our information security governance, risk, compliance, and trust objectives, contribute to our security documentation, collect and develop periodic compliance and security metrics, and more.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, or computer science-related degree
  • Interested in cybersecurity or information security governance, risk, and compliance
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, but also as an individual contributor
  • Able to learn and digest new technical concepts, even when they are complex or unfamiliar
  • Able to work independently, solve problems, and complete tasks with minimal guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27K, ISO 22301, SOC 2 Type 2, CSA STAR, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP, etc.)
  • Foundational knowledge of information security principles, or have entry-level security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC, or ISC2 SSCP, etc.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to write simple scripts to automate repetitive tasks or support security operations
  • Maintains thorough records that support knowledge sharing, repeatability, and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Learning how to conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual continuous monitoring activities, including vulnerability management tracking, evidence collection, and reporting
  • Supporting the review, design and implementation of information security and compliance standards (ISO 27K, ISO 22301, SOC 2 Type 2, CSA STAR, NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP) and tracking their implementation across the business.
  • Tracking control gaps and remediation activities.
  • Driving cultural change by contributing to iManage security training and enterprise awareness campaigns.
  • Supporting the oversight and execution over corporate security governance and control implementation.
  • Identifying gaps in team processes and proposing changes for improvement
  • Being communicative, ambitious, and proactive
