Job Summary The Informatics Program Manager oversees the implementation and optimization of clinical informatics programs within the organization. They are responsible for coordinating project needs with various stakeholders, developing project plans, monitoring risks, tracking benefits realization, evaluating ROI and program outcomes. Additionally, they lead the development of system-wide informatics governance guidelines and collaborate with other departments for technology integration and informatics’ process improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, healthcare administration, clinical or related discipline with an information technology focus required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Prosci Change Management or equivalent professional certification required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in program management, leading projects of a complex nature required.
  • Strong program and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and execute multiple workstreams across stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data tracking, reporting and outcomes evaluation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using presentation and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Visio) to create reports, visuals, and professional level content.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously with strong task management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare operations, clinical governance structures, process improvement methodologies, and patient flow optimization strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation and optimization of clinical informatics programs.
  • Develops project plans, timelines, and resources requirements for clinical informatics initiatives.
  • Oversees and manages a portfolio of clinical informatics programs and projects, ensuring that all initiatives are strategically aligned with organizational goals and resources are allocated efficiently to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Effectively manages project needs with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of project outputs.
  • Monitors and manages risks associated with clinical informatics programs and takes measures to mitigate potential issues.
  • Develops and maintains program documentation and reports to track progress and outcomes.
  • Evaluates and identifies ROI and anticipated value of projects and programs.
  • Serves as an effective liaison between multiple client groups and stakeholders across various levels of management.
  • Creates compelling presentation and informational materials, utilizing relevant data, for use at various committees and meetings within the organization.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of system-wide informatics governance guidelines.
  • Coordinates governance activities including preparation of agendas, project management of key initiatives, and follow-ups.
  • Analyzes data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical informatics programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Conducts financial and quantitative analysis and monitors existing or proposed processes, programs, and services against internal and external benchmarks.
  • Collaborates with other departments and teams to identify opportunities for technology integration and process improvement.
  • Ensures the transparency of communication by leading or participating in department meetings and interlocking with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Develops and delivers regular portfolio-level reports and executive summaries to leadership, tracking program progress, risk management, resource utilization, performance metrics, and benefits achieved across all assigned initiatives.
  • Standardizes and enforces program management methodologies, governance practices, and operational processes to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery and engagement of stakeholders across the healthcare portfolio.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
