About The Position

The Infor Applications team at Colorado Springs Utilities is looking to hire an Applications Intermediate and an Applications Senior to join our team. In this job, you will support our technology solutions through maintenance and support, troubleshooting of both in-house developed and Commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) deployed on-site and in public and private clouds. Key application systems supported by this position are Infor CloudSuite, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Taleo, and the Project Portfolio Tracking System (PPTS). You will perform low to moderately complex professional-level systems or subsystem administration, analysis, design, development, maintenance, system and data management, configuration, customization, vendor/contract management, and support of applications technologies of new or existing application programs, data, and components. These positions act under the general direction of a supervisor to provide the full range of expertise in application development, maintenance, system and user support, and provide guidance and training to less experienced IT employees. These positions will provide project activity, program, or vendor coordination for the assigned application area. A hybrid telework schedule will be considered for these positions; hybrid is defined as a pre-determined blend of working from home and in the office. This position offers two (2) days in the office and three (3) days at home per week. We are hiring (1) Applications Intermediate and (1) Applications Senior. Candidates will be offered positions dependent on experience and interview results. Applications Intermediate Pay Range: $83,179/yr. to $103,979/yr. Applications Senior Pay Range: $100,610/yr. to $125,757/yr.

Requirements

  • Collaborate effectively, share ideas, and work towards common goals with the accounting and human resource team to support projects and initiatives using the Infor CloudSuite application
  • Effectively communicate with team members & customers with excellent verbal and written communication skills – in addition, as the Senior, you will, occasionally, liaise with supplier support teams
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with strong customer service skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, analytical skills, critical thinking for solving application, database, and software issues, and the ability to debug and optimize code for performance. In addition, as the Senior, you will also troubleshoot server-level incidents
  • Effective time management - successfully prioritizes service issues and project tasks based on multiple competing objectives while multitasking
  • Project Management – as the Senior, you will, occasionally, lead small projects from start to finish
  • Technical aptitude – willingness and commitment to ongoing learning and self-development, excellent ability to learn, understand, and then disseminate information of a technical nature
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, proficient development experience, testing, and maintaining high-performance applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in applications, related programming, or support areas
  • One to three years’ experience in an applications or related programming/business environment
  • System monitoring tools and techniques
  • Experience administering and supporting Infor CloudSuite systems is highly beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Develop enhancements and monitor applications and programs to ensure proper functionality, data integration, and integrity. In addition, as the Senior, you will ensure documentation meets team standards for best practices
  • Design and evaluate algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for applications
  • Create and maintain programs/scripts to facilitate maintenance and to update various data sets
  • Develop, test, and debug programs and enhancements – as the Senior, you will provide input for optimization of the lower-level team-developed items
  • Analyze customer requests or problems by gathering data requirements and determining solutions for application development and report writing
  • Use established procedures to solve low to moderately complex problems, considering application requirements and configurations, system hardware, and software performance
  • Work directly with requestors and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve low to moderately complex production application issues, including database and software issues. In addition, as a Senior, you will help to troubleshoot server issues
  • Coordinate with vendor support for issue resolutions, patching, system upgrades, and release management for custom and off-the-shelf application deployments (SENIOR)
  • Train system users on new or modified programs and applications, and prepare and maintain user documentation
  • Create, maintain, and revise query algorithms, reports, and process and system documentation – in addition, as the Senior, you will create knowledge sharing documentation for end users and technical peers
