About The Position

Works with limited supervision from the Doctor of Occupational (OTD) Program Director, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC), and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator (DCC), carrying out the following: Interacts with Internal and External Constituents of the OTD Program in support of occupational therapy clinical education (i.e., fieldwork and capstone). Evaluates situations and communications to prioritize and categorize issues that require the attention of and/or response from the AFWC/DCC or the Program Director. Prepares and updates communications to clinicians, clinic administrators, students, accreditation bodies, professional associations, alumni, and other individuals and entities that interface with, and support, the OTD Program's clinical education functions, including development and management of the OTD website, newsletters, social media, email, and e-blasts, fact sheets, letters, information packets, and brochures. Assists the AFWC/DCC in developing administrative procedures and in resolving administrative issues. Prepares and maintains confidential academic and administrative records relevant to clinical education. Develops and manages systems to store, analyze, and display clinical education data (examples include student performance, student placements, site contracts, site offers, student medical and background information, clinical site information, clinical instructor information, faculty information, clinical course schedules, program highlights, goals, accomplishments, etc.). Coordinates the management of clinical site contract process from initiation to completion to renewal for the OTD Program. Contributes to, prepares, and coordinates annual updates for the relevant manuals in the OTD Program (Student Manual, Fieldwork Manual, Capstone Manual). Coordinates meetings and events conducted for clinical education constituents (continuing education courses conducted for clinical instructors, advisory board meetings, clinical education curriculum review meetings, clinical education staff and student meetings). Directs graduate assistants on selected projects and activities associated with clinical education. Assists with travel schedule and appointments for AFWC/DCC. Researches policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed to support the AFWC/DCC. Performs complex research by collecting and analyzing information. Assists the Program Director, AFWC/DCC, in preparing comprehensive reports and assessments, including those associated with compliance with C and D accreditation standards. Trains students in the use of web-based systems (EXXAT) used to store confidential health and background information and to communicate with the clinical sites. Manage financial obligations incurred by/for clinical education (examples: paying bills for services such WebPT, clinical education consortia dues, other membership dues, or service costs related to clinical education, travel costs, reimbursements, registrations, budget, and accounting for clinical education-related continuing education courses). Position is for a temporary position, working 37.5 hours per week Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background check

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • minimum of 2 years of experience working with the public
