About The Position

Overview Qualifications: The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. Education/formal training/licensure/certification experience: Graduate of approved School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience Must have at least one (1) year previous leadership experience. Certification in specialty area preferred. BSN or bachelor’s degree in related field Additional skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills required with the ability to prioritize with accuracy and speed. Must be highly proficient with emergency nursing clinical skills. Effective problem solving, critical thinking skills and a willingness to adapt to a changing work environment required. Must be an effective team-oriented leader, assisting and mentoring others to facilitate patient customer satisfaction. Maintains clinical and professional evidence-based competency levels required of age-specific populations. Must be able to identify appropriate staffing, supply, maintenance, and equipment needs and adjust as necessary within budgetary guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Uses an appropriate problem-solving approach to plan performance of service
  • Assures the appropriate clinical staff scheduled in a cost-effective manner.
  • Enhances patient throughput by coordinating requirements for patient care with available resources.
  • Participates in special projects as delegated.
  • Ensures appropriate and timely verbal and written communication to director, department staff, and peers to facilitate flow and decision-making.
  • Supports the organization in all communications with patients, physicians, visitors, peers, and others.
  • Provides services with consideration of the physical, psycho-social, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served.
  • Monitors and guides clinical staff to provide appropriate communication and education to patients and families.
  • Assists administration in monitoring patient satisfaction; identifies programs and policies to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Uses equipment/supplies correctly.
  • Selects and uses supplies efficiently.
  • Ensures any equipment is appropriately services.
  • Uses support from FH BioMed Support where appropriate to support equipment safety.
  • Uses appropriate safety and infection control measures.
  • Monitors safety and infection control measures within the clinic.
  • Monitors patient safety occurrences and works with clinic manager to document and notify appropriate FH departments and implement corrections.
  • Teaches/directs/advises informs others in an appropriate manner.
  • Communicates effectively with providers and ensures clinic is staffed appropriately.
  • Promotes quality staff interaction and demonstrates sensitivity and consideration to staff needs as relative to psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
  • Ensures correct staff patterns that support cross training and that promote quality clinic operation even when short-staffed.
  • Coaches, counsels, and appraises clinical staff regarding performance and/or disciplinary matters according to FHC policy and philosophy.
  • Monitors the work environment and initiates efforts to ensure general employee satisfaction.
  • Reports/records information correctly.
  • Provides special project monitoring and reports as requested.
  • Monitors clinical staff payroll records through ADP and makes necessary edits.
  • Maintains compliance with HR payroll principles.
  • Completes timely staff evaluations and communicates effectively with team.
  • Accurately documents clinical care and patient interaction in Epic.
