About The Position

The Infection Preventionist, RN provides leadership and is responsible for the day to day activities for infection prevention at any of the WakeMed Health & Hospitals facilities, clinics or services. The Infection Preventionist, RN is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, data and reporting of hospital acquired infection trends/clusters to intervene in the interest of patients', staff and visitors' safety. The Infection Preventionist, RN is responsible for education of staff about Infection Prevention. Serves as the hospital liaison to the Department of Public Health. Monitors the environment to ensure safe practices of infection prevention according to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse Required
• 5 Years Nursing Required

Nice To Haves

• Certified in Infection Control Preferred
• Master's Degree Preferred
• 5 Years Clinical - Emergency Department Preferred
• 5 Years Clinical - Surgical Services Preferred
• 5 Years Clinical - Critical Care (ICU/CCU) Preferred
