About The Position

Are you a detail-oriented LVN with a passion for clinical safety and regulatory excellence? All Saints Subacute & Transitional Care is seeking a Infection Preventionist (IP) to lead our facility’s infection control program. In this vital role, you will be the primary advocate for resident and staff safety, ensuring our facility remains a leader in aseptic technique and infectious disease management. Requirements

  • License: Must possess a current, unencumbered California LVN License.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience, preferably in a long-term care or subacute setting.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong ability to interpret lab reports (microbiological/serological) and apply findings to care plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC)
  • APIC Certification (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Plan, develop, and direct the facility’s infection control program in accordance with current rules and regulations (CDC, OSHA, and Title 22).
  • Surveillance & Reporting: Monitor infection practices, perform case-finding rounds, and prepare monthly summaries of resident/personnel infections for leadership review.
  • Staff Education: Lead the orientation of new employees on hand hygiene, PPE, and aseptic techniques. Conduct annual OSHA and CDC in-service training.
  • Clinical Rounds: Make frequent rounds to nursing units to supervise isolation precautions and ensure environmental sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Employee Health: Manage the TB Mantoux testing program, monitor Hepatitis B vaccinations, and provide counseling for occupational exposures.
  • Committee Leadership: Serve as a key member of the Infection Control Committee, providing oral and written reports on nosocomial infections and corrective actions.
