What You Will Do
As the Wound Nurse/IP, you will manage both the skin/wound-care program and the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Requirements

• A passion for working with seniors
• A positive, flexible, team-focused attitude
• Current LPN license in the state of practice
• Prior wound-care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience providing specialized treatments in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Infection prevention experience preferred (training available)

Responsibilities

• Assess wounds and document condition, progress, and response to treatment
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Treat surgical sites, pressure injuries, ulcers, and other skin issues
• Monitor for infection and healing complications
• Perform wound cleaning, dressing changes, and related treatments
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, therapy, and providers
• Oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program
• Track and monitor infections and maintain infection logs
• Conduct routine infection-control rounds
• Provide staff education and competencies on infection-control practices
• Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and state infection-control guidelines
• Partner with the DON and Administrator on regulatory preparation and ongoing standards
