About The Position

The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the prevention, surveillance, and control of infections within the healthcare facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes best practices in infection prevention, and supports patient and staff safety through education, monitoring, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Active Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Infection Control, Quality, Public Health, or Acute Care Nursing
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention guidelines and regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • CIC certification preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
  • Identify, investigate, and report infection control issues and outbreaks
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulations
  • Develop and deliver infection prevention education to staff
  • Review and update infection control policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership, quality, and employee health teams
  • Monitor sterilization, disinfection, and isolation practices
  • Analyze infection data and prepare reports for leadership and committees
