About The Position

The Infection Control Practitioner assists the Program Director in providing services necessary for the cost effective execution of the facility’s Infection Control Program and is responsible for both the Infection Control Program and the Accreditation and Regulatory Program in her absence. This role involves developing, implementing, and coordinating the efforts of staff, physicians, students, and contract employees in the prevention and control of infections and infectious diseases. The practitioner will perform routine, focused, and outbreak surveillance activities, identify care needs of patients/families, develop interventions, and utilize equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served. Additionally, the role requires working with all Holy Cross Workers for compliance with JCAHO/OSHA/MOSH requirements. Requirements

  • One of the following: BSN or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Microbiology/or related science
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Certification in Infection Control Epidemiology (CIC) must be obtained within 3 years of hire

Responsibilities
