About The Position

Congressional School seeks full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistants to work in our Infant/Toddler classrooms. This is a full-time position with scheduled hours between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm of Monday - Friday. The Teaching Assistant will work with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. The Teaching Assistant will assist in planning and implementing the daily program; actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds at all times; and observe, interact, and engage with children.

Requirements

• Experience working with infants and toddlers
• Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day
• Ability to regularly bend, stoop and crouch in order to physically interact with children and ensure their safety
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program
• Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds at all times
• Observe, interact, and engage with children
• Maintaining proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom
• Monitoring the playground and classroom at all times
• Helping with meals, and snacks
• Following daily staffing schedule and assisting in rooms when requested by the Early Childhood Coordinator or Lead Teachers
