The Role The preschool seeks a caring, dedicated Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to support children during this extraordinary stage of growth and discovery. This position plays an essential role in creating a nurturing, responsive environment where the youngest learners feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team member who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering each child’s social, emotional, and physical development. Strong candidates bring a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and experience working with infants and toddlers, along with a willingness to learn and grow alongside a supportive teaching team.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children and an understanding of their social, emotional, and creative needs
  • Proficiency in Google Suite & Mac/Apple OS
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and engage in activities at the child’s level
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist children
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally

Nice To Haves

  • A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (preferred but not required)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a childcare or preschool setting (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing care to support the social, emotional, and physical needs of each child.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans with the teaching team
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families, including updates about children’s progress and needs (via phone calls, newsletters, and conferences)
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development opportunities to foster personal and team growth
  • Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times
