About The Position

OACAC Head Start is seeking motivated team members for the position of Early Head Start (Infant/Toddler) Teacher Assistant and Family Advocate . Join a relationship-based team where we strive to staff three teachers in each EHS classroom to provide high quality care to infants and toddlers. Each mix-aged classroom serves a total of eight children birth through two. Each teacher in the classroom works cooperatively as part of a team and provides primary caregiving to two to three children. The Family Advocate is a vital part of the school family and interacts with all center staff and children daily, so they must be friendly, flexible and a team player. Family Advocates are to bring support in a case management style and act as a liaison between families, staff, the community, and other family-related services. This position is also responsible for recruitment and registration of enrolled children and families. Requirements

  • Minimum of HS Diploma/GED; and willingness to attain a credential (provided by the program) within 18 months of hire or certification in Social Services or related field.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age and reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of HS Diploma/GED AND six (6) college credit hours or Infant/Toddler CDA.
  • Willingness to obtain Early Childhood Development Specialization Certification from Ozarks Tech (paid for by employer).
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers.
  • Copy of transcript required with application.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Case management experience.
  • Minimum of HS Diploma/GED AND six (6) college credit hours or Infant/Toddler CDA.
  • Willingness to obtain Early Childhood Development Specialization Certification from Ozarks Tech (paid for by employer).
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers.
