The Industry 4.0 Strategy & Transformation Lead will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-year digital transformation roadmap across manufacturing and operations. This role will serve as the enterprise integrator between manufacturing operations, IT, engineering, quality, supply chain, and cybersecurity to modernize factory capabilities, improve execution excellence, and enable data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will bring deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing, current digital tools and infrastructure, and modern Industry 4.0 technologies. This leader will define the long-term vision, translate it into executable initiatives, and drive adoption at scale across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or related field and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years’ experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or digital transformation roles within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale manufacturing digital initiatives.
  • MES/MOM systems, ERP integration, and shop-floor systems.
  • Data analytics, IIoT, and modern manufacturing technologies.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution across multiple sites.
  • Familiarity with digital thread/digital twin concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a 5-year manufacturing digital transformation strategy aligned. with business objectives, operational priorities, and safety/quality requirements.
  • Assess current-state manufacturing processes, systems, data architecture, and digital maturity across sites.
  • Define the target-state architecture, including platforms, data flows, standards, and governance models.
  • Build and maintain a prioritized digital roadmap with clear value cases, sequencing, and investment rationale.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to pilot, scale, and deploy digital solutions across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Drive disciplined execution using agile, lean, or hybrid delivery models.
  • Establish adoption metrics, benefit tracking, and operational KPIs to ensure realized value.
  • Lead organizational change management efforts, including training, communication, and workforce enablement.
  • Define governance models for digital investments, prioritization, and funding in Operations.
  • Develop business cases and ROI models for digital initiatives.
  • Support executive reviews, steering committees, and capital planning processes.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of digital, manufacturing, and analytics professionals.
  • Help define future skill needs for manufacturing digital capabilities and workforce evolution.
