About The Position

Ogden Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Industrial Technology Teacher to join our team. Requirements

  • Valid Iowa Teaching License
  • Industrial Technology endorsement or ability to obtain appropriate licensure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with middle and high school students
  • Commitment to hands-on, student-centered learning and collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching or industry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Industrial Technology lessons aligned with state and national standards.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that incorporates hands-on learning, technical skills, and real-world applications.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and tools to meet the diverse learning needs of students in grades 8�12.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and responsibility.
  • Build strong relationships with students to encourage creativity, confidence, and career exploration in industrial technology fields.
  • Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through project-based learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods.
  • Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and communicate progress with families as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and use data to guide instruction.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab/classroom environment in accordance with safety standards and best practices.
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Teach and reinforce safety procedures and expectations consistently.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum and support student success.
  • Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and instructional best practices.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and extracurricular activities.
  • Adhere to all district policies and expectations for professional and ethical conduct.
