About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Simulation Engineer to lead the development, execution, and analysis of simulation and emulation models for advanced manufacturing operations. This role blends industrial engineering principles with modern digital modeling tools to optimize throughput, validate system designs, and support strategic decision making for complex production environments. The ideal candidate has deep experience in discrete-event simulation, manufacturing flow optimization, and industrial systems analysis, and is comfortable translating real-world processes into accurate digital twins. In this role, you will: Develop detailed discrete-event, agent-based, or continuous flow simulation models of manufacturing lines, workcells, and end‑to-end processes. Build emulation environments to virtually test automation equipment, PLC logic, MES interactions, and system integration scenarios. Validate model accuracy through data analysis, time studies, and collaboration with manufacturing, automation, and quality teams. Conduct scenario modeling to evaluate capacity, bottlenecks, throughput, labor requirements, and equipment utilization. Identify improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, and other industrial engineering methodologies. Deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership regarding layout changes, line balancing, new equipment, automation enhancements, and process changes. Provide technical justification and ROI analysis for capital investments or operational changes. Partner with engineering, supply chain, operations, and automation teams to ensure simulation outputs align with real-world constraints. Support new product introductions (NPIs) by modeling ramp-up curves, takt times, and resource plans. Present findings to technical and executive stakeholders in a clear, concise manner. Develop and maintain complex models using platforms such as Emulate 3D, FlexSim, Arena, AnyLogic, or similar tools. Interface simulation models with external systems (PLC emulators, MES, SCADA, databases) when needed. Maintain documentation and standard modeling methodologies to support organizational knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing simulation, emulation, or industrial engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise with discrete-event simulation tools (such as Emulate 3D, AnyLogic, Plant Simulation, FlexSim, Arena, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, automation systems, line balancing, cycle-time analysis, and throughput modeling.
  • Experience interpreting PLC logic, MES workflows, or automation system behavior (a plus for emulation-heavy environments).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI).
  • Background in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves
