About The Position

POSITION : Industrial Sewer JOB DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 1-year experience operating Industrial sewing machine (automated or manual) Minimum 1-year experience using a double needle machine With Minimal supervision, sew specific material items (vinyl, fabric, leather) together using consistent seam widths Operate the industrial sewing machine to join pre-cut and upholstery pieces together, aligning pieces maintaining consistent seam width while preserving grain and/or fabric patterns. With Minimal supervision, sew deck seams (top stitch) on seat and back cushions Must be familiar with installing zipper and zipper heads on sewn parts Must be familiar with Single and Double needle industrial sewing machines Have basic math skills and be able to either read, or be trained how to read a tape measure and ruler Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of reading and understanding written instructions Capable and willing to adjust sewing machines to stitch various types and thicknesses of fabric, vinyl, and leather Operate and facilitate a safe work environment and safe work area Good hand-eye coordination Good concentration skills Demonstrate attention to detail and quality Be able to distinguish colors of thread, bobbin, fabric, fabric grains, and patterns Ability to make minor repairs and/or adjustments on sewing machines a plus Industrial cutting experience in layup, layouts, using straight knife or round knife is also a plus
