About The Position

Invictus is seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to support the turnkey delivery of two fully operational, code compliant 21,000-ton chiller plants. This role is responsible for integrated cost control, schedule development, progress measurement, and field aligned forecasting across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. This position requires a hands-on project control professional with strong field construction experience who can translate real world site conditions into accurate schedules and cost forecasts. The Scheduling Manager will play a critical role in ensuring on time and on budget delivery in a remote and logistically complex construction environment. This is a full time W2 position based in Houston, Texas, with regular field site engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience in scheduling, cost control, or project controls on large industrial or mechanical construction projects
  • Demonstrated field construction experience supporting active job sites
  • Experience supporting remote or greenfield construction environments
  • Strong understanding of heavy mechanical installation sequencing and large-scale chiller or central utility plants
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and cost control systems
  • Experience supporting turnkey or EPC projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 10,000 ton or larger chiller plants, district energy, or mission critical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Texas construction conditions and labor markets
  • Experience with earned value management and schedule risk analysis
  • Strong Excel and reporting tool proficiency
  • Proven ability to work closely with superintendents and construction managers in the field

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall project controls plan covering cost management, scheduling, progress measurement, and reporting
  • Establish work breakdown structures aligned with construction sequencing, procurement packages, and commissioning milestones
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning into a single resource loaded master schedule
  • Develop and maintain a detailed, logic driven baseline schedule using Primavera P6 or equivalent
  • Ensure schedule logic reflects actual field conditions including crew sizing, work hours, access constraints, logistics, and weather impacts
  • Incorporate long lead equipment, vendor constraints, FAT and SAT activities, and commissioning logic
  • Perform schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation and recovery strategies
  • Support short term look ahead planning in coordination with field supervision
  • Establish and manage project budgets, cost codes, and control accounts
  • Track committed costs, actual costs, and forecast to complete values
  • Implement earned value and physical progress measurement aligned to field installation milestones
  • Identify cost trends, variances, and risks early and recommend corrective actions
  • Support pricing and evaluation of field driven scope changes
  • Work closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to validate progress and productivity assumptions
  • Translate field conditions into realistic schedule updates and cost forecasts
  • Account for remote site challenges including labor availability, travel logistics, material delivery constraints, and equipment mobilization
  • Conduct regular site walks to validate physical progress and installation status
  • Prepare accurate and timely cost and schedule reports for project leadership and owner representatives
  • Present critical path status, cost trends, and risk exposure in clear and actionable formats
  • Support executive dashboards, monthly progress reports, and owner reviews
  • Maintain transparency between field execution and project controls data
  • Maintain cost and schedule risk registers
  • Quantify impacts of identified risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support schedule and cost impacts associated with design changes, procurement delays, or field conditions
  • Ensure alignment between change orders, budget revisions, and schedule updates
