About The Position

The Industrial Sanitation Technician is responsible for performing a variety of sanitation and deep cleaning functions throughout the facility. This role supports compliance with OSHA, SQF, and GMP requirements by performing routine and deep cleaning of equipment, overhead structures, and facility floors and surfaces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments.
  • Experience using industrial vacuums and scrubbers.
  • Previous scissor lift experience and certification.
  • Prior sanitation, industrial cleaning, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills with the ability to disassemble and reassemble production equipment.
  • The role requires exposure to cleaning chemicals and routine operation of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 19 feet on ladders or lifts when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and scheduled cleaning of production equipment, floors, walls, rafters, overhead piping, ductwork, and other structural surfaces.
  • Conduct high-level cleaning using lifts, scaffolding, or ladders.
  • Use sanitation and cleaning equipment to complete job functions including pressure sprayers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.
  • Utilize environmental monitoring tools such as ATP swabs, allergen/protein swabs, pipettes, luminometers, and incubators to verify cleaning effectiveness and support food safety and SQF monitoring programs.
  • Responsible for following food safety and quality policies and procedures such as: SQF, GMP's, food safety, product quality, food security, etc.
  • Follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Adhering to safety practices and procedures including the wearing of PPE's and Lock Out Tag Out procedures
  • Complete required sanitation logs and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Serve as a member on the SQF/GMP Committee.
  • Receive and maintain Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
