About The Position

Okanagan Specialty Fruits LLC (OSF) is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Technician for its Moses Lake apple processing facility. The Industrial Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the independent operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Freon-based industrial refrigeration systems supporting food production and cold storage operations. This role requires demonstrated competency to safely work without direct supervision while following established procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
• 2–4 years of experience with large commercial or industrial Freon systems
• Ability to work independently and safely
• Strong electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Independently operate and monitor Freon-based refrigeration systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls
• Respond to refrigeration alarms and abnormal operating conditions
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging in compliance with EPA regulations
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and refrigerant documentation
• Coordinate work with production, sanitation, and maintenance teams
• Support contractors during specialized refrigeration work
