About The Position

Shape the flow of power that keeps our operation moving Step into a role where your expertise in power distribution and controls keeps a busy coal transshipment facility running. As an Industrial Power & Controls Electrician, you’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and conveyor belt lines that move coal from rail to vessel—safely, efficiently, and with pride in workmanship. A day in the life You start your shift reviewing work orders and preventive maintenance plans. A conveyor PLC throws a fault—your ladder logic skills kick in as you trace the issue from sensor input to output. Later, you rebuild a control panel, bend conduit to spec, and test a 480V circuit. Before shift-end, you team up with operations to safely run a crane and locomotive during transshipment, performing inspections that minimize downtime and keep everyone safe. What you’ll do Install, service, and repair electrical systems and industrial machinery components per code, manuals, schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. Build and repair control panels; execute clean, code-compliant conduit runs. Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC motors and drives, PLCs, controls, and sensors (limit and proximity switches). Lead electrical preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned outages. Diagnose and resolve issues across 220/480-volt power distribution systems. Conduct safety inspections and uphold OSHA standards—including lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, hot work practices, mobile equipment operation, and proper PPE. Cross-train and safely operate equipment such as loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes during coal transshipment.
