About The Position

This Immediate Opening as an Industrial Plant & Piping CAD Design/Drafter with RWDC Industries, you will play a crucial role in our engineering team, supporting the design and implementation of industrial plant & piping systems for various projects. This position is ideal for someone who is hard charging and willing to grow in a collaborative environment while contributing to innovative solutions in industrial plant and piping design. RWDC Industries is a growing biotechnology company in Athens, Georgia. We manufacture bio-based polymers with a goal of replacing (yes, replacing) single-use petroleum-based plastics. Our biopolymers are bio-based and made from renewable resources that are biodegradable and compostable. Requirements

Associate's degree and experience in related field.
Basic understanding of piping design principles and relevant industry codes and standards.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, SolidWorks).
4+ years of experience in industrial plants and piping design or related fields.
Required experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, Plant 3D).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics as they relate to piping systems.
Experience with pipe stress analysis tools is a plus.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of piping and industrial plant layouts designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze piping systems and identify optimization opportunities.
Support the preparation of detailed piping design drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Participate in project meetings and assist in the coordination of design activities with other disciplines.
Conduct site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions for new projects.
