About The Position
We are currently seeking a dependable Industrial Painter to join our client's production team. This Industrial Painter position is responsible for racking, prepping, and spray painting primers and organic coatings in accordance with work orders, company standards, and customer specifications. The Industrial Painter works under the direction of the Paint Supervisor or a qualified trainer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Candidates without a diploma/GED must pass a pre-employment assessment
- Average reading skills with the ability to comprehend and retain information
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Positive team-player attitude
- Strong work ethic and dependability
Nice To Haves
- Previous spray painting experience preferred (1–2 years desired)
Responsibilities
- Read and understand work order requirements
- Identify parts using printed and/or electronic images
- Rack, prep, turn, and solvent-clean production parts prior to coating
- Shake, mix, and apply primers according to work instructions and manufacturer technical data sheets
- Maintain a clean and organized organic coatings area following company 6S standards
- Follow all safety requirements and properly use required PPE
- Handle and transport hazardous waste in compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Maintain statistical process control data and use paint thickness measuring equipment
- Meet production and quality requirements
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities
- Work overtime and weekends when required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Paint Supervisor or trainer
