About The Position
Sandvik is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team in Alachua, FL. In this role, you will apply high‑quality cosmetic and protective finishes to rotary drilling rigs and components used in some of the world’s most demanding environments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant painting experience.
- Experience with spray booths and respirators/PPE.
- Familiarity with industrial primers and coatings.
- Ability to read and use tape measures.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime.
- Ability to pass a non-DOT physical exam.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with decal or vinyl installation.
- Knowledge of industrial paint specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare rig frames, structures, and components for paint through sanding, cleaning, masking, and surface conditioning.
- Apply primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings using spray equipment (including air‑assisted systems).
- Mix paints and coatings to correct color, viscosity, and specification.
- Perform touch‑ups, detailing, and cosmetic corrections.
- Inspect work before, during, and after application.
- Safely operate and maintain painting equipment.
- Coordinate with supervision and quality teams.
- Identify and troubleshoot paint‑related issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Support continuous improvement and follow Sandvik’s Integrated Management System.
