Performs painter duties associated with preparing and coating/lining pipes and components using various coating and lining applications for shipment. Maintains technical equipment and troubleshoots issues with equipment. Maintains high first pass quality rating. Follows all Safety Rules; reports any safety incidents or violations to management. Coordinates priorities for specific customer orders with Management. Confers with department management to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing. Reads customer specification and drawings to determine type of coating, thickness of coating, and other specifications for coating operations. Ensures pipe is positioned correctly on paint line, operates polyurethane and epoxy machines to perform painting operations per drawing specifications. Completes required steps for proper paint gun, paint pump, and paint tote set-up. Completes run chart for every pipe. Monitors DEFT readings per pipe. Operates polyurethane pump and small epoxy sprayer. Completes Paint Start-Up and Paint Shutdown Checklists daily. Adjusts paint lap according to procedure. Maintains paint booth including replacing plastic and changing out paint totes as needed. Adjusts and monitors preheater to preheat pipe to appropriate temperature for coating. Applies Rust Preventative Material to meet customer specification. Maintains and troubleshoots polyurethane machine and AP Spray Gun. Understands and verifies the complete delivery system for Poly Coat process. Certified ID Lining Coating Application. Fully assemble AP Spray Gun. Certifies on all Machine Coating and Manual Coating Applications. Certifies to and operates Kamatsu to clean paint pad. Certified Manlift operator. Maintains housekeeping for Painting area and assists with department area. Other duties as assigned by management.
