Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
As a key technician supporting a flexible packaging plant, you’ll move seamlessly between modern automation and proven legacy equipment. One minute you’re diagnosing a PLC-controlled fault on a laminator, the next you’re reading a schematic to trace a relay issue on a slitter or flexographic press. You’ll lock out equipment, pop panels, meter circuits, and bring machines safely back online—all while documenting your work in the CMMS and sharing best practices with teammates when needed. You’ll support a mix of equipment found in high-throughput packaging: slitters, laminators, printing equipment, chillers, compressors, process pumps, ink pumps, and glue pumps. Safety is non-negotiable, uptime matters, and craftsmanship shows in every repair.
Requirements
- Industrial maintenance background or comparable military maintenance experience
- Proven electro-mechanical troubleshooting strengths in a production environment
- Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and industrial control systems (preferred)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights using ladders and lifts
- Comfortable working independently on rotating off-shifts, including overtime and weekends
Nice To Haves
- Background in flexible packaging (extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting) is a plus
- Forklift experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical issues across production assets to minimize downtime
- Apply LOTO and safe machine procedures; champion a safety-first culture
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents to guide repairs
- Test motors, contactors, relays, and related components using a multimeter
- Troubleshoot PLC-driven systems and electrical controls
- Maintain auxiliary systems: chillers, compressors, and process/ink/glue pumps
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance with urgency and precision
- Perform root cause analysis and record work activity in the CMMS
- Keep all production equipment running safely and efficiently
