About The Position

Since 1948 Follett Products, LLC has led the industry in designing and manufacturing high-quality, innovative ice storage bins, ice storage and transport systems, ice machines, ice and water dispensers, ice and beverage dispensers, and medical-grade refrigerators and freezers for the food service and healthcare industries. Follett has an opportunity for an Industrial Maintenance Technician (2nd shift) to join our Team! This opportunity is a full-time, union (USW) position and includes benefits. JOB SUMMARY: The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial / fabrication equipment and systems throughout the facility to ensure optimal efficiency and safety with focus on minimal downtime to support production needs. This role involves mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate degree in Industrial/Facility Maintenance or State Certification in a maintenance field preferred.
  • Technical/vocational training (3 yrs) in an Industrial Maintenance program a plus.
  • Certifications in welding, electrical (industrial voltages and platforms), or mechanical systems (e.g., AWS, CEST, OSHA) preferred.
  • Experience with fabrication equipment (fiber optic lasers, CNC press brakes, automated deburring systems, turret systems, dust collection systems, preferred.
  • First aid (BBP/AED) and safety certifications (ESR/OSHA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial/facility maintenance position required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical (industrial voltages and platforms) and HVAC system required.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to work second shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) and be available to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial / fabrication machinery and equipment including but not limited to, pumps, press brakes, fiber optic lasers, turrets, deburring systems, refrigerant charging stations, etc.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as required.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in fabrication machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and diagrams.
  • Operate hand and power tools, welders, hoists, power equipment, and other maintenance related items safely.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors / managers, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning / decommissioning of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards and policies.
  • Maintain accessibility and appearance of facility exterior as required.
  • Facilitates facility dunnage removal as required.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures and standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
