About The Position

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) crystallizers and dryers. The ideal candidate will have experience with thermal processing equipment, pneumatic and electrical systems, and a strong understanding of material handling systems used in PET processing environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a plastic processing or thermoforming environment.
  • Familiarity with PET crystallization and drying systems (e.g., Novatec or UnaDyn).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems, PLC interfaces, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform tasks in hot environments.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or be on-call as needed.
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively communicate ideas, changes and improvement suggestions; handle multiple and diverse manufacturing tasks with minimum supervision; and the willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on PET crystallizers, dryers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and process issues using standard troubleshooting procedures.
  • Conduct inspections and calibration of temperature controls, heaters, blowers, and air flow systems.
  • Monitor and maintain dryer dew point levels and ensure crystallizers are operating within process parameters.
  • Replace, repair, or adjust components such as motors, belts, sensors, thermocouples, filters, and air lines.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and process flow diagrams.
  • Document all work performed in maintenance logs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and company policies.
