Pay levels are decided during the interview based on your skills, knowledge, and experience. We offer a shift increase for second and third shifts with a chance for overtime. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on complete training and demonstrated skills on the job. Position Description: This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This full-time, second-shift Maintenance Generalist position is for Tyson Foods’ Vernon, Texas, location. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment in a food-processing environment. Position will work with scissor lifts, scaffolds, industrial pallet jacks and various chemicals and lubricants and will be responsible for welding, soldering, and assembling equipment.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
Must have a minimum work history of 12 consecutive months in maintenance related field in the previous 18 months.
Must be able and willing to work in a changing environment.
Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
Must be able and willing to complete work without direct supervision and be able to manage time.
Must be able and willing to serve as a member of the Emergency Response and Intermediate Fire Fighting Teams.
Must be able and willing to complete required documentation daily.

Must be able and willing to lift to 50 pounds frequently.
Must be willing and able to stand and walk the entire shift.
Must be willing and able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts.

Must be willing and able to work near moving mechanical parts.
Must be willing and able to work in non-weather humidity, cold, and heat.

Nice To Haves

Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic repair preferred.
