Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. This job posting is for 2nd shift with a rotational work schedule of 3 - 12 hours days 1 week and 4 - 12 hours days the next week. The work hours are generally 12 hours a day and the shift generally starts at 6:00 p.m. The starting base rate of pay is $26.05/hour, plus a shift premium of $2.00/hour. Starting pay can be higher based on experience. This position is also eligible for overtime pay. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed. Job Responsibilities: This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, and troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility. Performs work involving hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics in general, as well as some welding. Sets up, adjusts, and breaks down production line machinery and completes daily documentation, as required. All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety. Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations. Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT). Requires basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training. Ability to read manuals to repair equipment safely and to follow all safety protocols. Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures. Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed. Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves. Performs other duties, as assigned. Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be willing and able to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level The Team Member will climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces, as applicable The Team Member will stand, walk, and perform job up to 10-12 hours/day, with appropriate breaks The Team Member will bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and across at shoulder level The Team Member will work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas The Team Member will flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools The Team Member will wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves Eligibility to Apply: Team Members must be on an “active” employment status. Team Members must not exceed more than 4 attendance points at the time of application. Team members must not have received a written warning in the past six (6) months or a written warning with suspension in the past 12 months from the date of application. At least one (1) year of mechanic work experience. Internal applicants must ensure their current and past work/job experience is included on the application with relevant experience specified. Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.
