Prioritize safety by adhering to the plant’s accident prevention policies and procedures. Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times. Under direct Mechanical Supervision: Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment within the manufacturing plant and other USG properties. Maintain, test, and repair conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, and related mechanical equipment. Develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions on production and auxiliary equipment. Operate mechanical testing and diagnostic equipment as required for the job. Become familiar with and properly use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Interpret and use mechanical and equipment schematics and technical manuals. Continually expand knowledge and understanding of: Plant-specific preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices. OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) regulations related to mechanical maintenance. Applicable MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) standards for industrial maintenance.
