Position Summary & Objective The Inspector is responsible for examining materials, parts, and component parts for quality purposes to identify defects and to ensure they are in compliance with specifications. Essential Functions Performed by the Position Inspects and test completed assemblies, and their subassemblies, performing a variety of related duties. Disassemble, clean, and inspect machine sub-assemblies and components for cracks, wear and dimensional integrity. Verifies dimensions of parts and location of holes, grooves, and other points according to blueprints, using measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height and depth gauges. Moves gears to turn dial at desired point and tightens or loosens control nuts on Vernier to synchronize movement of both units. Assisting in general machine repair/mechanic duties as workload dictates. I.E. Re-assembly of press sub-assemblies. Verifies dimensions of parts and location of holes, grooves, finish and other points according to blueprints, using measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height and depth gauges. Turns parts, such as gears and Vernier’s, to test freedom of movement. Creates part disposition prints for engineers. Works from hand drawn sketches and blueprints. Assists in general machine repair /mechanic duties as workload dictates (re- assembly or sub assemblies) preferred. Must be mechanically inclined and enjoy tearing machines or engines apart and putting them back together. Ability to work 1st shift hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday.
