About The Position

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking an Industrial Hygienist responsible for providing consulting services related to industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental services. Responsibilities include all aspects of industrial hygiene and environmental health such as asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, noise, radon, and preparing written reports, proposals, or presentations with recommendations for corrective actions to alleviate hazards and resolve issues that impact the health and well-being of our clients and their employees. Asbestos: Performing building inspections, interpreting laboratory analyses, creating abatement scopes of work, providing project oversight, and conducting air sampling. Lead: Performing inspections for lead-based paint using an XRF analyzer, creating mitigation scopes of work, providing project oversight, and conducting air/wipe sampling. Mold: Performing mold and moisture investigations, interpreting laboratory analyses, creating remediation scopes of work, providing project oversight, and conducting air/surface sampling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of consulting experience conducting industrial hygiene projects.
  • Possess one or more of the following licenses: IDPH Licensed Asbestos Building Inspector Project Manager Air Sampling Professional Lead Risk Assessor or Lead Inspector
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work directly with clients.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record meeting MVR policy standards.
  • Ability to carry sampling equipment, climb structures, work at heights, and perform outdoor work.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel with overnight stays as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits and evaluations to identify and assess potential occupational health hazards, including noise, chemicals, and radiation.
  • Design monitoring and tracking strategies; perform field measurements using a variety of monitoring and sampling equipment.
  • Develop technical reports documenting workplace hazard evaluations and mitigation strategies, including engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and skills in line with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Prepare Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans (SSHASPs) and Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (PJHAs).
  • Collaborate with other safety and health disciplines to ensure effective work planning and hazard control.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Perform other projects as assigned.
