Environmental- Industrial Hygienist – Seattle, Washington Compensation: $65,000–$80,000 annually, full-time with benefits Workload: Approximately 75% field / 25% office We are seeking an Environmental - Industrial Hygienist to join our dynamic team in Seattle. This role is heavily field focused and supports a wide range of projects throughout the Puget Sound region. Project work aligns with Apex's core service areas, including industrial hygiene and health and safety, environmental compliance, indoor air quality, and contaminated site assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Health and Safety, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while also operating independently
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent technical field aptitude, including critical thinking, planning, execution, and documentation
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Pacific Northwest
  • Experience with industrial compliance, hazardous building materials assessments, and air quality sampling

Nice To Haves

  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification
  • Additional credentials such as Project Designer, HAZWOPER, Confined Space training, ASP, CSP, EPA Lead Inspector, or Radon Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hazardous building materials inspections and sampling
  • Perform code compliance monitoring and oversight for hazardous materials abatement projects
  • Complete indoor air quality evaluations
  • Conduct mold and fungal environmental testing
  • Provide construction management and abatement oversight
  • Prepare technical reports and draft CAD plans
  • Support general project administration
