About The Position

This role entails providing overarching occupational health and safety expertise to one of Apex's most valued clients, a national aerospace manufacturer. Over the last 25 years Apex has worked hand and hand with the national aerospace manufacturer helping them achieve their Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomic and Safety Engineering goals. The incumbent will serve as an Industrial Hygiene (IH) contractor supporting the aerospace manufacturer's Global Industrial Hygiene Group located in Renton WA. This role will be a full-time, onsite position. The client has requested 5 days a week/8-hour day, day shift. The role is slated for 6 months with possible extension based on performance. The Aerospace Manufacturer's Global Industrial Hygiene group serves as the company's corporate Industrial Hygiene division responsible for policy and program development, maintaining and managing regulatory compliance through auditing, data management and analytics, research and risk identification. This is one of Apex's most unique roles as incumbent will routinely support a large range of projects at the direction of the global IH group such as; supporting the development of IH programs (noise, chemical, radiation, etc), analyzing/interpreting sampling dating and preparing comprehensive reports based on findings, maintain and update internal data management systems, supporting internal audit programs, research support for identifying new and emerging hazards and rinks across sites in addition to collaborating with cross-functional Environmental Health and Safety groups/operation teams to support continuous improvements in health and safety company wide. The incumbent shall have a strong overall understanding of all that is Industrial Hygiene and will also provide project leadership and project management functions to deploy a national program at the local site. Perhaps most importantly, the incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a team to produce results. As a disclaimer, this role is subject to termination at any time due to potential client financial and or budgetary restrictions. In turn, the role is also subject to extension.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 3+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of Masters degree and work experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills with people and organizational skills
  • Chemical and toxicology knowledge/background
  • Deep knowledge of vertical standards and program management.
  • Experience with data management and report preparation.
  • Valid driver's license required and clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
