About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Hygienist – Mobile Lab Technician to join our team and operate out of one of our mobile laboratories. This role services the Minneapolis MN metro area, delivering high-quality environmental testing to a wide range of clients, including restoration and abatement companies, homeowners, and insurance providers. As a Mobile Lab Technician, you’ll be responsible for traveling throughout a defined region to collect samples, conduct on-site testing, and generate accurate reports that support environmental safety and compliance. This position plays a key role in helping clients manage environmental hazards and ensure safe building environments. This is a Direct Hire role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, geology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications strongly preferred, including NIOSH 582, EPA AHERA, or ACAC certifications (e.g., CIEC).
  • Prior experience with asbestos, mold, and lead testing in a laboratory or field setting is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow established testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned area and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with microscopy techniques is a plus—training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Travel within the assigned region to collect environmental samples for asbestos, mold, lead, and soot testing.
  • Conduct on-site analysis using approved laboratory techniques and equipment such as Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), XRF analyzers, and other industry-standard tools.
  • Perform detailed inspections of buildings and sites to assess potential contamination.
  • Analyze and interpret data to determine the presence and extent of environmental hazards.
  • Generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings, including test results and recommendations for remediation.
  • Communicate clearly with clients to ensure understanding of the process and results, and address any project-specific concerns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations and testing standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to enhance technical skills.
