About The Position

The Industrial Floor Scrubber Operator is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and compliant floor surfaces throughout a large industrial manufacturing facility. This position operates industrial ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers to remove debris, dust, oils, and other contaminants that could impact safety, product quality, or operational efficiency. The role supports OSHA compliance, housekeeping standards, and overall plant safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to safely operate industrial cleaning equipment
  • Ability to read and understand safety signage, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to entire shift)
  • Push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach as required
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Work in environments with noise, moving equipment, dust, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating ride-on floor scrubbers or similar equipment
  • Familiarity with OSHA, GMP, or plant housekeeping standards

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbing equipment in a safe and controlled manner
  • Clean and maintain concrete, epoxy, and coated floor surfaces in production areas, warehouses, corridors, and loading zones
  • Remove oil, grease, dust, and manufacturing residue to reduce slip, trip, and fall hazards
  • Perform pre-use and post-use inspections of floor scrubbers
  • Fill, drain, and clean solution and recovery tanks
  • Identify and report spills, unsafe floor conditions, or housekeeping concerns immediately
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and documented procedures
  • Properly store equipment, chemicals, and supplies after use
  • Maintain accurate cleaning and equipment logs as required
  • Assist with other facility housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations, plant safety rules, and company policies
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, eye protection, and gloves
  • Follow lockout/tagout, chemical handling, and hazard communication (HazCom) procedures
  • Maintain situational awareness in active manufacturing areas with forklift and equipment traffic
