About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineering Manager with expertise in Lean Six Sigma, manufacturing process optimization, facility layout design, and plant maintenance. This role is critical in streamlining production, improving efficiency, managing facility operations, and supporting new product lines. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on the manufacturing floor and has a deep understanding of Lean methodologies, high-mix/low-flow production, operational scalability, and facility infrastructure management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • 5+ years of Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing experience in a high-mix, complex production environment.
  • Strong experience in facility layout design, process improvement, and throughput optimization.
  • Expertise in Value Stream Mapping, RCCA, Visual Management, and Gemba practices.
  • Hands-on, floor-focused leadership style - thrives in a manufacturing floor environment.
  • Strong facilities and maintenance management experience, including preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Experience managing high-mix, low-flow and low-mix, high-flow production systems.

  • Experience in the automotive or transportation manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma projects to improve manufacturing throughput, labor efficiency, and process flow.
  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping to identify inefficiencies and drive process enhancements.
  • Implement Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies to resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Develop Visual Management Systems to increase real-time production transparency.
  • Drive throughput improvements and labor hour reduction strategies.
  • Apply Gemba principles to understand and solve shop floor challenges.
  • Optimize manufacturing workflows for multiple product lines, including high-mix/low-flow and low-mix/high-flow production.
  • Design and implement an optimized manufacturing space layout to support production expansion.
  • Ensure the facility layout supports scalability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital investment projects related to manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Oversee plant maintenance, facility operations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and increase equipment reliability.
  • Manage facility utilities, repairs, and safety compliance in alignment with operational needs.
  • Ensure environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards are met across the facility.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to drive operational improvements.
  • Work closely with leadership and be a key decision-maker in future growth initiatives.
