About The Position

WAGO is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Engineer to lead on-site process improvement initiatives in our production and warehouse operations. This role focuses on optimizing production process efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness through data analysis, lean practices and automation. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the industrial engineering field is required with experience in the electronics industry preferred.
  • Requires strong communication skills along with the ability to work on multifunctional teams.
  • Proficiency with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, CAD software and process improvement methodologies such as statistical process control and design experiments and optimizing resources under constraints
  • Must be familiar with mechanical and electrical control systems, automation (PLCs, HMIs, robotics), and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from an accredited educational institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Able to work onsite in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Experience with implementing the Seven Basic Tools of Quality.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Six Sigma certification or formal lean training.
  • Prior use of SAP ERP or similar systems.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or automated production lines.
  • Travel requirements up to 10% for training, supplier visits or project support

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute projects to design and improve new and existing production processes.
  • Lead layout redesigns and implement changes to support lean process flow.
  • Perform line balancing, create and update routings, identify takt time, and analyze production data for bottlenecks and root causes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and work instructions while working cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Participate in Kaizen events, lead 5S initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support and troubleshoot automation equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
  • Develop dashboards and performance metrics to track KPIs and drive improvement.
  • Maintain accurate ERP routings and cost structures.
  • Research, justify, and present capital expenditure projects to management and oversee implementation.
  • Support new product launches and design-for-manufacturability efforts with Design Engineering
  • Collaborate with the quality department to support compliance with ISO standards and OSHA/state safety regulations.
  • Assist with plant layout improvements and participate in resolving customer concerns (CARs, RMAs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Facilities & Maintenance department, along with floor managers to implement new equipment and processes.
