Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Industrial Engineer to function as a continuous improvement champion supporting avionics manufacturing. You’ll provide technical expertise to optimize production methods, improve quality, reduce cost, and ensure products conform to design and regulatory requirements. This role has an onsite work schedule at our business unit, Moog Avionics, located in Mineral Wells, TX. Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering/technology field (Industrial Engineering preferred) with up to five years of experience in engineering disciplines supporting operations.
  • Proficient in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, DMAIC).
  • Experience with value stream mapping and root-cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, Cause Mapping).
  • Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Strong communication skills to instruct, document, and coordinate across functions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SolidWorks and process simulation tools.
  • Capability to perform statistical process control and other statistical methods for process capability and throughput analysis.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement manufacturing process design, work flows, improvement, and production controls.
  • Lead process design and improvement efforts to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Assist in the design of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and workstations for assembly, test, and inspection.
  • Develop, document, and validate standard work, operation sequences, assembly guides, and work instructions.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing manufacturing methods, capacity plans, process flow, and production layouts.
  • Perform time studies for standard labor costing methods, line balancing, and workstation ergonomic reviews.
  • Investigate production issues and nonconformances; lead root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, Materials, and Engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, testability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, routing cards, FMEA, control plans, and calibration/validation records.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to manufacturing personnel; ensure traceability of affected assemblies and parts for trend analysis.
