Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Columbus Engine Center is the largest Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) shop for the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbo Fan (GTF). The GTF engine family is the quietest, most efficient, most environmental in its class, delivering the lowest fuel consumption and CO2 emissions for single-aisle aircraft. Columbus Engine Center also houses the Military Engine Center of Excellence which performs MRO activities on a number of military engine models. With 550,000 sq ft of manufacturing space and an expansion underway, Columbus Engine Center is looking for dedicated individuals to help support and grow our organization. What You Will Do: Industrial Engineers apply advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and optimize factories to maximize throughput, efficiency, and value. Industrial Engineers are involved in Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layout, Line Balancing, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, Process Mapping, and Project Management. What You Will Learn: Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement. Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints. Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals. Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics. Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory expansion, manufacturing technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities. Own Gated Metrics centered around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People. Develop dashboards, aids, and tier boards to support Gate management and tiered escalation practices Participate in factory safety and ergonomic improvements.
