About The Position

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving productivity, reducing waste, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility. This role will drive operational excellence across all manufacturing departments to ultimately achieve customer on-time delivery and other manufacturing facility objectives. The Industrial Engineer will analyze workflows, labor utilization, material flow, equipment performance, and facility layout to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (metal forming or discrete manufacturing preferred).
  • Experience in high-volume production settings strongly preferred.
  • Skillful in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates computer and software proficiency.
  • Capability of generating and comprehending reports to facilitate informed decisions.
  • Shows a strong commitment to advancing the organization and supporting the production team.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with or without direct supervision as well as independently or in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with fastener manufacturing processes (cold and hot forging, thread rolling, machining) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies, motion studies, and work sampling to establish and maintain labor standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase throughput, reduce cycle times and delay times, and minimize scrap.
  • Support production scheduling with capacity analysis and line balancing. Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Drive 5S implementation across production and warehouse areas.
  • Identify waste (scrap, rework, downtime, excess inventory) and develop corrective action plans.
  • Track and report KPIs such as OEE, labor productivity, scrap rates, and on-time delivery.
  • Optimize plant layout within manufacturing facility to improve material flow and reduce travel time.
  • Support equipment relocation, new line installation, and capacity expansion projects as required.
  • Evaluate warehouse storage systems and inventory flow strategies.
  • Perform cost analysis for labor, equipment, tooling, and process changes.
  • Assist as needed with ROI justifications for capital expenditures.
  • Support quoting and cost-estimating activities with accurate labor and process data.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to extract and analyze production data.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain and update standard work documentation and process instructions.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Safety teams to implement improvements.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or performance issues.
  • Assist in workforce planning and staffing optimization.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure ergonomic standards are applied.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments, including JSA and WI development as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable industry regulations.
