Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Industrial Engineer - Level 2 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will:

  • Serve as the on-site industrial engineer for a manufacturing work center
  • Maintain oversight, rapport, and direct awareness with all production team member and their activities.
  • Conduct time studies, develop standard operating procedures, and create staffing models.
  • Estimate lead times to support program proposals and MRP.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Monitor labor and capital resource utilization, developing plans for efficiency and capacity management.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely material and equipment delivery.
  • Participate in project meetings and execute special studies and projects.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related STEM field
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or MES.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Green Belt certification.
